I am a visual artist from Tbilisi, Georgia, born in 1992. Currently, I am based in Budapest. I work with painting, installation, and video/film.
Painting, for me, is a collective act stretched across centuries of human history — one that emerges from the conscious and unconscious fields of our shared visual memory. I engage with that memory directly and deliberately. I research archives, both physical and online, taking elements from paintings, frescoes, objects, architecture, and other visual sources I encounter over time. I crop, recolor, and isolate small details, recomposing them through my own visual vocabulary. I think of this as working with visual "found footage" — building something closer to an experimental film, not in the result, but in the process itself.
This way of working lets me spend time with these sources slowly and reflectively, considering why they have stayed with me and how their meaning shifts through appropriation and transformation. It is a modest contribution to an open conversation with the past.
Memories are living organisms. As we change, they change with us, transforming into restructured narratives. I am interested in how these traces surface in perception, and in how collective memory continues to live inside contemporary painting — both the wider memory we share as a species, and the local memory fields of specific communities and societies.
Alongside painting, I work in installation. I assemble paintings, sculptures, dry plants, steel, and found objects into spatial environments that extend the logic of painting into three-dimensional space. These assemblies treat paintings not as self-contained images, but as nodes within a larger memory-space.
